Project Title: HP System Management Homepage Organization : MphasiS Technologies Ltd Operating system : LINUX. Languages : C Team Size : 4 members. Duration : 9 months Role : Testing Integration part of the product with HP System Insight Manager Functionality Testing
Description: The HP System Management Homepage (HP SMH) is a Web-based interface that consolidates and simplifies single system management for HP servers on HP-UX, Linux, and Microsoft Windows operating systems. By aggregating the data from HP Web-based agents and management utilities, HP SMH provides a common, easy-to-use interface for displaying hardware fault and status monitoring, performance data, system thresholds, diagnostics, and software version control for an individual server. HP SMH enables IT administrators to view in-depth hardware configuration and status data, performance metrics, system thresholds, diagnostics, and software version control information using a single intuitive interface and provides the enhanced security and streamlined operations for HP servers. HP SMH is tightly integrated with HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM), which is the foundation for HP's unified server-storage management strategy provides the basic management features of system discovery and identification, single event view, inventory data collection, and reporting.
Project Title: Linux Agents for System Management Homepage Organization : MphasiS Technologies Ltd Operating system : LINUX Languages : C Team Size : 3 members. Duration : 6 months Role : Implementation of interface between the agents Implementation of new MIB variables
Description: The Linux Agents use SNMP protocol to gather the server health information and provides the user a web interface called System Management Homepage (SMH). The SMH consists of various sub sections like storage, NIC, Remote Communications, System, Configuration etc. The data displayed in the SMH (Management Station) is obtained from various subagents running on the server (Managed entity). The web agent displays data in System Management Homepage. For each data to be displayed in the SMH, the web agent maintains the corresponding MIB variable name and OID. When it has to display specific information in the SMH, it requests the data to an SNMP agent (also called as snmp daemon). The snmp agent on the server retrieves the value of MIB variable and passes it back to the web agent. The cmapeer daemon works as an interface between sub agents and snmp agent. The sub agents create and update a set of dynamic MIBs. The dynamic MIBs are also logged into files called as registries (under /var/spool/compaq). The snmp agent reads/writes these MIB values through cmapeer daemon.
Project Title: SIP User Agent in VOIP Organization : Mycrone Data Systems Operating system : LINUX Language : C Team size : 4 Duration : 9months Role : 1. Studied TCP/IP, SIP and Socket programming 2. Implementation of SIP User Agent (UA) a logical entity at VOIP endpoints.
Description: A call setup between PCâ??s in LAN / WAN environment which can be extended to low cost telephone calls on internet using traditional telephones and soft phones. The advent of voice over IP (VOIP) has given a new dimension to internet and opened a host of new possibilities and opportunities for both corporate and public network planners. VOIP has become especially attractive given the low-cost, flat-rate pricing of the public internet. The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a new signaling, presence and instant messaging protocol developed to set up, modifies and tears down multimedia sessions, request and deliver presence and instant messages over the Internet. In order to provide telephony services there is a need for a number of different standards and protocols to come together. It provides transport usable in conjunction with RTP stack, transport capability over UDP and TCP, digest based authentication.
Project Title: Interactive Transaction Process Organization : Mycrone Data Systems Operating system : LINUX Language : C Team members : 3 Duration : 5 months Role : 1. Studied Client Server architecture 2. Involved in Client implementation and Unit Testing
Description: This project is implemented on Client-Server Paradigm and was developed exclusively for a Banking Package, Which supports Online Transaction Processing. This uses database services viz. centralized concept. The most familiar Client â?? Server model is used in the implementation. This is implemented using IPCâ??s facilities. The server used here is a concurrent server, i.e. the server process, as soon as it receives a request from any client. This project is designed to handle transactions on terminals, which are connected with a single server, and it can be generalized to handle the transactions on network by using IPC facilities of UNIX operating system, Server is the only authority which writes. There is some kind of inter process communication is needed to be done between each clients. FIFOâ??s message queues, shared memory, are used. Client process, which are requesting are creating the account, deposit and withdraw of amount and balance check.
